Dr. Sokolyk’s research interests include corporate governance, entrepreneurial finance, and international investments. She has published papers in several top-ranked academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. Her papers won several awards, including outstanding/best paper awards at the following conferences: Southern Finance Association, Academic Research Colloquium for Financial Planning and Related Disciplines, Midwest Finance Association, Kauffman Conference on Strategic Entrepreneurship, and Financial Management Association Asia.

Her co-authored research has been invited for presentations at universities in Canada, USA, Italy, and Australia. Dr. Sokolyk has held SSHRC Insight Development grant.

Dr. Sokolyk’s research has been featured in Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Financial Post, Forbes.com, Financial Times, and Boston Globe and has been referenced in policy proposals to U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and international Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
