Dr. Lei holds a PhD in Finance from McMaster University. He primarily studies corporate finance, behavioural finance, and financial accounting. He teaches courses in corporate finance, investments, financial theory, international finance, and managerial economics.

Dr. Lei’s work has appeared in leading finance journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Behavioral Finance. His work has been sponsored by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Dr. Lei served on the Insight Development Grant Adjudication Committee of SSHRC, and also served as a referee for several finance journals including Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Behavioral Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, and Managerial Finance.

Dr. Lei is a core faculty member for the MSc program and available to supervise finance MSc students. He currently serves on the Research Excellence and Impact Committee (REIC) of the Goodman School of Business.
