David Whitehead joined the Goodman School of Business in 1998. He received his PhDs from the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago and the Ivey School of Business at the Western University, MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and BA (Honours) from Trinity College at University of Toronto. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of Buffalo Singapore Institute of Management and Nankai University.

David has had numerous appointments as a mediator and arbitrator in public and private sector union-management disputes, and many of his arbitration awards have been published. He has arbitrated election disputes and mediated disputes among partners in professional partnerships and family businesses. He has also designed expedited arbitration procedures for union-management groups and has conducted comprehensive organizational restructuring reviews.

David served as Chief Negotiator and Grievance Officer for the Brock University Faculty Association (BUFA), as well as Vice Chair of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) Grievance Committee.
In 2017-18, David was Chair of the Brock University Senate and a member of Brock’s Board of Trustees.
