Anamitra Shome teaches managerial accounting, and information systems. He holds a PhD in accounting from Concordia University, an MBA from St. Mary’s University, and a BSc in Botany from Delhi University. Before his career in academia, he worked in foreign exchange banking in India.

Shome has been a member of the MAcc and IMAcc program committee, the undergraduate program committee, the strategic planning committee, and Brock University Senate. He has also been a judge for the “Break the Case” case competition, and presenter at the Goodman undergraduate orientation.

Periodically, Shome is a reviewer of Accounting Perspectives, the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA) conferences.

In 2013, he was the recipient of the Goodman Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Chancellor’s Chair for Teaching Excellence.
