Dr. Perera’s research interests are in the areas of immigrant and social entrepreneurship, collaborative consumption, social responsibility, and consumer activism. Her work has been published in multiple journals including Consumption, Markets and Culture, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, the New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice as well as in edited academic books such as The Routledge Companion to Digital Consumption.
Her research has also been presented at multiple conferences including those sponsored by the Association for Consumer Research, the Eastern Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, the International Society for Third-Sector Research, and the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
