Barbara Sainty has been teaching at Goodman School of Business since 1999. She holds a PhD and MA in accounting from Ohio State University, and a BAdmin from the University of Regina.

Before her career in academia, Sainty practiced public accounting at Ernst & Young, during which she obtained the CA and CMA designations. In 2016, she was named Fellow by the CPA Canada and received the FCPA designation, the highest honour in the accounting profession.

Sainty has served as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Accreditations from 2006 to 2008, and Interim Dean from 2008 to 2010. She has also been a Board Member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and the Institute of Charted Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), and served as a member of Brock University Senate for fifteen years.
